This peach bourbon smash. It’s almost like peach cobbler in a glass, but not as sweet. Peach is a delicate flavor, so we’re muddling a good amount of them to get those juices out. We’re pairing that with bourbon (@unclenearest for me).
Citrus from lemons cut sweetness and basil adds freshness. Add a few dashes of bitters for more “seasoning” and PINCH of cinnamon to amplify all the flavors. Ginger ale to top it off!
PEACH BOURBON SMASH
- 2 oz Bourbon
- 1 oz Simple Syrup
- 1 oz Lemon Juice
- 3 dashes aromatic bitters
- 2 or 3 peach slices
- 3 Basil leaves
- Pinch of cinnamon
- Ginger ale (optional)
Add peach slices, basil & simple syrup to a shaker. Muddle long enough to express the juices and incorprate into the syrup. Add in bourbon, lemon juice, bitters and cinnamon. Fill your shaker halfway with ice and shake to chill (larger icecubes work best). Shake for 12-15 seconds. Strain into your favorite cocktail and top with ginger ale if you like. Garnish with extra fruit and basil. Enjoy!
